Team Lead – Primary Years | Cambridge Pathway

The Team Lead – Primary Years will provide academic and pedagogical leadership to the Primary Years team, ensuring the effective implementation of the Cambridge Primary curriculum and a consistent, high-quality learning experience across the phase.

The role involves supporting teachers in curriculum planning, assessment, classroom practice, professional development, and student progress while fostering a collaborative and reflective team culture. The Team Lead will work closely with the school leadership to translate the school's vision and Cambridge framework into meaningful learning experiences for students.

Essential

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Primary Education, or a relevant subject area.
• B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of successful Primary teaching experience , preferably within a Cambridge or international school.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum planning, assessment, and primary pedagogy.
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge Primary curriculum and assessment framework .
• Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or supporting other teachers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Desirable

• Experience in a Cambridge Pathway school across multiple Primary year groups.
• Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (PDQ) or relevant Cambridge training.
• Previous experience as a Year Lead, Subject Lead, Key Stage Lead, Primary Coordinator, or similar academic leadership role.
• Experience with curriculum development, school improvement, or accreditation processes.
• Experience working with diverse, multicultural learner communities.
• Familiarity with digital learning platforms and technology-enhanced pedagogy.

A strong candidate should be an experienced Primary educator who is ready to move beyond their own classroom and take ownership of the quality, consistency, and professional growth of the wider Primary team.
