Where You Will Work:
We are seeking new graduate RN’s or experienced non OR RN’s that are excited about the Operating Room to join a cohort where you will orientate for a period of 6-9 months learning to be efficient as a Registered Nurse in Advocate Aurora Illinois Masonic Operating Rooms!
Are you looking for a teaching environment that will challenge your knowledge and skills surrounding surgical nursing in the Operating Room? You are the eyes, the ears, and the voice of the patient during one of the most vulnerable times of a person’s healthcare journey. The OR is highly interdependent and team based. You will work closely with surgeons, residents, advanced practice clinicians, anesthesiologists, technologists and assistants to provide superior surgical outcomes. Your orientation and practice environment is rooted in the specialty standards and educational programs of the Association of Perioperative Nurses (AORN). Your extensive RN orientation includes exposure to both circulating and scrub competencies.
The unit has 12 OR suites in the main hospital and 6 state of the art operating rooms in the Outpatient Center for Advanced Care. The surgical services division also provides pre and post-operative care focusing on the education of patients and families and providing smooth transitions between settings for the best patient outcomes. The OR performs all specialty surgeries except transplants, and offers state-of-the-art equipment and services. The surgery department is staffed 24 hours during the week.
