RN - Med-Surg/Telemetry

Seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in an acute or post-acute healthcare setting. The RN will assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, provide pre- and post-operative care, monitor vital signs, and coordinate discharge planning. Candidates must have strong clinical assessment skills, experience with IV therapy and wound care, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities:Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.Provide direct bedside nursing care to medical-surgical and pre- and post-operative patients.Administer prescribed medications and treatments and document patient responses.Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV initiation and maintenance.Monitor vital signs, interpret clinical measurements, and promptly report adverse reactions or changes in patient condition.Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment as required.Provide telemetry monitoring and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms when applicable.Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, recovery, and post-operative care.Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care.Maintain accurate patient records, medical charts, and nursing documentation.Follow established nursing standards, infection control procedures, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an acute or post-acute care setting, with recent experience within the past year.Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited educational institution.Active New York State RN license with primary source verification.AHA BLS required; AHA ACLS required.Skills in physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, infection control, IV therapy, post-operative care, patient education, and telemetry monitoring.Epic EMR experience preferred.Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills..
