Job Description
A large federal modernization program is looking for a Senior Test Automation Architect to own its Java based BDD automation framework and lead the people who use it. You will set the technical direction for automated testing on mission critical federal systems, and you will grow the team around you.

What You Will DoArchitect, build and evolve the automation framework using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and GherkinSet up and maintain Selenium Grid for parallel, cross browser and cross platform executionConfigure and run automated regression suites through Jenkins CI/CDBuild API test automation for REST and SOAP services using REST Assured and ParasoftPartner with the integration team to run automation in the Integration environmentMentor and train testers so they ramp quickly on the framework and project standardsLead Agile ceremonies, including serving as Scrum Master when needed
RequiredMaster’s and 5+ years, Bachelor’s and 7+ years, or 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degreeStrong core Java development skillsExperience designing Selenium frameworks with JUnit or TestNG and MavenHands on Cucumber and Gherkin: Features, Scenarios and Step Definitions in a custom frameworkSelenium Grid setup and maintenanceJenkins CI/CD for automated regression suitesAPI test automation with REST Assured, Parasoft or SOAP UISQL against PostgreSQL, DB2 or Oracle to validate test resultsDeep knowledge of BDD and TDDPrior experience acting as a Scrum Master on an Agile software teamAbility to obtain and maintain a federal Public TrustWillingness to work onsite in Woodlawn, MD five days a week xzbcwsv
PreferredParasoft for functional testing, API testing and service virtualizationPlaywright (preferred), Cypress or UiPathGit/Stash pull request workflows, VersionOne (Agility), Confluence, SonarQube, CheckmarxAWS or Docker, including running tests in containersAI assisted test automation, self healing frameworks or synthetic test data generationPrior federal agency experience
