Automation/SDET Test Engineer

We are seeking an experienced SR QA/SDET Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement automated testing solutions for enterprise applications and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, SQL, AWS, Databricks, and Spark, along with expertise in API testing, data validation, and CI/CD automation.This position focuses on ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of applications and data pipelines within a modern AWS cloud environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks using Java and tools such as Selenium or Cypress.Develop automated test suites for application functionality, APIs, data pipelines, and system integration.Perform end-to-end data validation, including data ingestion, transformation, profiling, mapping, and reconciliation.Write complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data warehouses and data lakes.Test cloud-based data processing workflows using AWS Glue, Databricks, Spark, and Athena.Perform API testing using REST services and tools such as Postman.Conduct performance and load testing using LoadRunner or similar tools.Design and manage test data, including data masking and scenario-based test data creation.Integrate automated testing into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and DevOps practices.Troubleshoot complex application and data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and document defects.Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to ensure high-quality releases.Required QualificationsStrong hands-on programming experience with Java for test automation.Experience developing automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, or comparable tools.Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of relational databases, data models, and data validation.Experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouse environments.Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Databricks, Athena, and Apache Spark.Experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM.Strong understanding of data profiling, data mapping, data integration, and data quality testing.Experience with REST API testing and integration testing.Familiarity with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner.Experience working with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPython programming experience.Experience with Collibra Data Quality Platform.Hands-on experience with Postman.Experience building automated testing solutions for large-scale cloud data platforms.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, with a Computer Science major preferred.Ideal CandidateA hands-on QA Automation Engineer who combines strong Java automation development with advanced SQL, AWS cloud services, and Databricks/Spark data testing. xzbcwsv The ideal candidate has experience building automation frameworks from the ground up, validating complex data pipelines, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD processes while maintaining high standards for software quality, security, and performance.
