Location: Phoenix, AZEmployment Type: Contract-to-HireOnsite for Training then HybridContract Rate: $37/hour (4-Month Contract)Target Salary Upon Conversion: $73,000-$75,000 AND $8,000 BONUS!Position SummaryThe Senior Auto Adjuster is responsible for managing complex non-injury auto claims from investigation through resolution. This role handles multi-vehicle accidents, coverage disputes, disputed liability, comparative negligence, physical damage, and total loss claims. The adjuster analyzes policy language, evidence, damages, and applicable laws to make coverage, liability, and settlement decisions while providing proactive customer service throughout the claims process.Key ResponsibilitiesManage complex auto claims from investigation through resolution.Handle claims involving:Multi-vehicle accidentsCoverage disputesDisputed liabilityComparative negligencePhysical damageTotal lossAnalyze policy language, statements, evidence, damages, and applicable law to determine coverage and liability.Evaluate and negotiate first-party and third-party physical damage claims within settlement authority.Document claim investigations, decisions, and resolutions in Guidewire ClaimCenter and related systems.Independently manage an assigned inventory of claims and drive timely resolution.Deliver empathetic and proactive customer service during difficult claim situations.Partner with managers, appraisers, technical resources, and business partners.Support catastrophe (CAT) response efforts, including mandatory on-call assignments and potential evening, weekend, and holiday work.Travel or deploy with minimal notice during CAT events.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Minimum 3 years of recent auto claims adjusting experience.Auto physical damage claims experience, including repair-related claim decisions and settlements.Coverage investigation experience.Disputed liability experience.Comparative negligence experience.Experience independently managing an assigned auto claims inventory from investigation through resolution.Arizona Adjuster License.Ability to pass a job-related assessment, if required.Required SkillsAuto Claims Adjusting3+ years of recent auto claims adjusting experience.Experience handling claims from initial investigation through resolution.Coverage InvestigationExperience reviewing and interpreting policy coverage.Ability to analyze evidence and determine claim coverage.Liability AnalysisDisputed liability handling.Comparative negligence determination.Physical Damage ClaimsVehicle damage evaluation.Repair-related settlement decisions.First-party and third-party physical damage claim negotiations.Claims ManagementManaging assigned claim inventory.Timely claim resolution and documentation.Decision-making based on policy, evidence, damages, and applicable law.Required Technology SkillsGuidewire ClaimCenter (documentation and claims management)Claims documentation systems and related claims toolsPreferred Qualifications4+ years of recent auto claims adjusting experience.Experience handling:Liability claimsCoverage investigationsDisputed liability claimsComparative negligence claimsTotal loss experience, including:Vehicle valuationSettlement negotiationExperience mentoring, coaching, or acting as a technical resource.Active adjuster license or multiple state adjuster licenses.Guidewire ClaimCenter experience.Bachelor's degree.U.S. military service or military spouse/domestic partner status.What Success Looks LikeInvestigates claims thoroughly and identifies all relevant facts.Makes timely coverage, liability, and settlement decisions.Maintains clear, complete, and well-documented claim files.Communicates effectively with members regarding claim status and next steps.Takes ownership of claims through final resolution. xzbcwsv Successfully manages claim inventory while maintaining service and quality standards.
