Renewyx is representing a well-established commercial and industrial solar and energy storage EPC contractor in Chicago. They design, engineer, build and maintain solar, BESS, and microgrid projects, and they are adding to their design team.
They are seeking an electrical engineer to join their design team in the Chicago area. You will own the electrical design for C&I solar and battery storage projects. That means modelling systems in PVsyst or Helioscope, building single-line diagrams and calculations, and preparing the permit and interconnection packages submitted to utilities and building departments. You will work closely with project managers, engineers and installation crews, so you will be the person who turns the design into something the field can build.
An electrical engineering degree and hands-on C&I solar and storage design experience are firm requirements for this role. The team needs an engineer who has produced code-compliant electrical designs for these projects and can see them through to the build.

The ideal candidate should have the following:Hands-on electrical design experience on C&I solar and BESS projectsA bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with FE or EIT status ideal and a PE license a bonusStrong AutoCAD skills and modelling experience in PVsyst or HelioscopeA track record of producing single-line diagrams, calculations and permit and interconnection packagesWorking knowledge of voltage drop, ampacity and short circuit calculations, with studies experience in ETAP, SKM or CYMCAP a plusComfort working with project managers, engineers and installation crews, including shop drawings and field markupsA high focus on quality and detail, and comfort working to deadlinesBased in the Chicago area, with hybrid in-office working
