A well-established New York City real estate law practice is seeking an experienced Commercial Leasing Attorney to join its growing transactional team.The firm has a longstanding and sophisticated commercial real estate practice representing landlords, tenants, business owners and other real estate clients in the negotiation and documentation of commercial leasing transactions throughout New York City.The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of meaningful commercial leasing experience and be comfortable independently handling transactions from initial term sheet through lease execution.The RoleThe attorney will advise clients on a broad range of commercial leasing matters, including:Office, retail and other commercial leasesLandlord and tenant representationLease drafting and negotiationLetters of intent and term sheetsLease renewals and amendmentsAssignments and subleasesPersonal and good-guy guaranteesOperating expenses, real estate taxes and additional rent provisionsBuild-outs, tenant improvements and repair obligationsRent concessions and landlord contributionsCompliance and use provisionsDay-to-day leasing and real estate counselingQualificationsCandidates should have 7+ years of commercial real estate experience with a significant concentration in leasing, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage transactions with limited supervision.
