Additional Information About the Role The General Surgery floor and intermediate care unit is located on north campus in the Schoenberg Pavilion and is a bariatric center of excellence. The nurses care for patients who undergo innovative surgeries including plastic reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, endocrine oncology, and ophthalmology. The intermediate care unit provides monitoring of adult surgical patients that do not meet criteria for ICU but require a higher level of care such as continuous cardiac monitoring, frequent I & O, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, initiation of CPAP/BIPAP, frequent vital signs, and intravenous medication management of approved medications.
