Overview:
We are seeking a Construction Manager for a major biopharmaceutical client in the Lehigh Valley, PA area. The selected candidate will manage a portion of the construction of an expansive pharmaceutical manufacturing campus which may include one or more of any number of buildings on the campus including a welcome center, central utilities building, emergency services building, administration building, or manufacturing plant. The selected candidate should be familiar with all building systems and will oversee construction on behalf of the client. This is a full-time, on-site position with a minimum of 18-month assignment.
Representative Responsibilities:
Maintain open line of communication with all project stakeholdersConduct constructability reviewsAdvise on and assist in preparation of requests for bids/proposalsAdvise on preparation of contract documents (i.e. general conditions, specific conditions, specifications, division of work)Conduct pre-bid meetingManage and respond to contractors’ RFIsReview proposals and bidsAdvise owner on contractor selectionConduct pre-construction meetingReview and monitor the schedule (in some cases, prepare the schedule)Conduct regular progress/coordination meetingsMaintain records on project progressSite visit reportsProgress meeting minutesCorrespondenceConversation recordsRevisions to plans/specificationsBudget reviewsChange ordersTrack and maintain all contractor submittalsReview and coordinate approval of shop drawings/submittalsEnsure required inspections and testing are conducted and in compliance with standardsIdentify foreseeable risks and issuesAdvise the client of any defects, deficiencies or deviations from the approved plans/specificationsCoordinate resolution of technical conflicts/engineering issuesApprove xzbcwsv change ordersTrack project costs/budgetMonitor, analyze and report budget statusCertify contractor requisitions for payment for work conducted and approve progress paymentsCertify substantial completion of the workDevelop a punch list and manage project close-outApprove final payment and release of any bondsManage warranty repairs
Qualifications:
Prior experience working in pharmaceutical or related industry5 -10 years experience in construction management of manufacturing facilitiesExperience working with and managing architectural/engineering firmsExperience managing cashflows, schedule, project databasesAbility to maintain good customer relationships with business partnersExcellent oral and written communications skillProficient with MS Office SuiteProficient with MS Project and P6Proficient with project control toolsBachelors Degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management or related field
