Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead, supervise, and support custodial team members to ensure consistent, highquality execution of all cleaning tasks.
- Evaluate team member performance and collaborate with management on feedback, coaching, and advancement recommendations.
- Provide training and skill development for new hires and existing staff.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily operational reporting, including customer concerns, transportation issues, and other service-related updates.
- Ensure work assignments and shifts are executed effectively, adapting to changing business needs.
- Perform cleaning services as needed to support operations or fill coverage gaps.
- Mix and apply detergents and cleaning solutions according to required specifications.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and other custodial machinery.
Safety, Quality, & Maintenance
- Monitor safety compliance and report hazards, repair needs, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure adherence to all safety practices and industry standards across the team.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for internal customers and team members.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage departmental administrative tasks, including ordering materials and supplies, processing timecards, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Assist with scheduling, inventory management, and operational planning.
Customer & Team Support
- Demonstrate strong internal customer service skills by actively listening, addressing employee concerns, and recommending positive solutions.
- Make informed decisions, prioritize effectively, and balance multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of relevant janitorial management experience.
- Experience managing a team of 20 or more employees.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with customers, managers, and coworkers.
- Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials, and visualize project requirements.
- Strong planning, organizational, and decisionmaking capabilities.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Commitment to safety and the proper use of equipment and cleaning products.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Valid drivers license.
