Join a team building foundational infrastructure for Ethereum scalability, security, and decentralized applications. As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Nitro team, you will contribute to the core systems powering a leading Ethereum scaling solution. You’ll solve complex distributed systems challenges, improve performance, and strengthen the security and scalability of blockchain infrastructure. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll collaborate with research, product, and blockchain engineering teams to develop innovative technical solutions. You’ll contribute to technology that supports a growing ecosystem of decentralized applications and blockchain projects in a remote-first environment.
\Develop core backend infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain systems that support blockchain execution and Ethereum scaling.
Address complex engineering problems involving reliability, performance, scalability, and system behavior.
Optimize performance: Apply a security-first mindset throughout development, proactively identifying vulnerabilities and reducing potential risks.
Work closely with research, product, and blockchain engineering teams to deliver robust technical solutions.
Drive projects from investigation through implementation, seek innovative solutions, and contribute beyond immediate responsibilities when needed.
Stay current with emerging technologies, exchange feedback openly, and help improve engineering practices and system architecture.
Backend engineering experience: Extensive production experience with a programming language that supports concurrency, such as Go, C++, or Rust.
Demonstrated contributions to significant products or systems, with the ability to solve complex technical problems through experimentation and rigorous analysis.
Familiarity with WebAssembly, particularly developing high-performance and secure production code, is an advantage. Remote-first work environment: Join a globally distributed team, with an office available in New York.
