Role Description The Associate Professor of Psychology is a full-time, on-site position based at the Karjat campus. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses, designing and updating curricula aligned with contemporary research and interdisciplinary frameworks, and mentoring students in academic and career development. The position is governed by UGC Regulations, on minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and seeks candidates with a strong research record, global exposure, and demonstrated experience in AI-enabled and technology-driven andragogy.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning Teach UG & PG courses in Psychology and related Liberal Arts/Social Science areas. Design and deliver innovative, learner-centred, and technology-enabled, including AI tools for assessment, feedback, and personalization.

Curriculum Development Engage in the design, revision, and review of curricula in Psychology and allied interdisciplinary courses. Align curriculum with NEP 2020 and UGC guidelines where applicable, integrating global and Indian perspectives.

Research and Publications Conduct independent and collaborative research in Psychology or allied disciplines. Publish regularly in peer-reviewed and UGC-CARE/UGC-listed journals, and contribute to edited volumes, books, and funded projects.

Student Mentoring and Academic Leadership Guide and mentor students in academic, co-curricular, and research activities, including dissertations, internships, and projects. Supervise Ph D research scholars as per university and UGC norms.

Institutional and Outreach Activities Actively participate in departmental, school, and university activities such as seminars, workshops, conferences, community outreach, and extension programmes. Contribute to academic administration, quality assurance, accreditation, and other responsibilities assigned by the Dean of School/University authorities. Undertake roles such as programme coordination, committee membership, or other academic-administrative assignments as required.

Desirable Qualifications - Associate Professor A Ph D Degree in Psychology with a Master’s degree in Psychology A minimum of eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a university, college, or accredited research institution/industry A minimum of seven high-quality research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals in the relevant discipline and a total research score of at least 75 . A minimum of 10 research publications in peer‑reviewed or UGC‑listed journals with a 120 research score for Professor Proven experience in technology-enabled teaching, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital content creation, blended/hybrid teaching, and AI-supported tools, curriculum design for interdisciplinary programmes in Psychology and Liberal Arts. Experience in industry, clinical, or community engagement relevant to Psychology (e.g., mental health services, organizational consulting, social sector projects) will be considered an added advantage.

Qualifications Strong foundation in Psychology , with demonstrated expertise in one or more subfields (e.g., cognitive, social, clinical, organizational, or educational psychology). Experience in University Teaching and Teaching , including designing and delivering courses, assessments, and student mentoring. Proficiency in Curriculum Development , with the ability to integrate interdisciplinary perspectives and contemporary research into program design. Evidence of active Research output, including publications in reputable journals, conference presentations, and engagement with academic networks. Doctoral degree (Ph. D. or equivalent) in Psychology or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution. Commitment to student-centered learning, inclusive pedagogy, and the use of innovative teaching technologies. Strong analytical, communication, and academic writing skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines, including AI and related fields. Prior experience in supervising postgraduate research, securing grants, or leading academic projects is highly beneficial.
