Job Overview
A law firm seeks a litigation associate for its Chicago, IL office. This role offers the chance to engage in creditor's rights litigation and bankruptcy law within a collaborative team environment. The position involves working closely with senior attorneys and participating in client-facing activities.
DutiesDraft complaints and motions for various legal proceedings.Conduct discovery and manage case files effectively.Appear in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts.Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel and clients.Enforce commercial loans and manage collateral repossession.
Requirements3-5 years of law firm experience in creditor's rights litigation and bankruptcy law.Experience with the Uniform Commercial Code, equipment leasing, and commercial finance law.Deposition experience and strong case management skills.Admitted to practice in Illinois or in the process of admission.
EducationJ.D. degree with strong academic credentials.
CertificationsAdmitted to the Illinois Bar or eligible for admission.
SkillsExcellent legal research and writing abilities.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
