Its products are designed for horizontal and vertical integration into Smart Factories, enabling intelligent, fully interconnected production cells for customers.<br /><b>Role Description </b> This full-time, on-site Design and Automation Engineer role is based in Chennai. The role involves designing and developing automation solutions for injection molding and auxiliary equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and control system components. Responsibilities include creating detailed design documentation, 3D models, and drawings; selecting and integrating sensors, actuators, and controllers; and programming automation sequences for robots and handling systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams on project specifications, testing, validation, and commissioning of automation cells, while ensuring safety, reliability, and energy efficiency. The role also includes troubleshooting existing systems, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and providing technical input for customer-specific solutions.<br /><b>Qualifications<br /></b> <ul><li>Candidates should possess strong skills in mechanical and electrical design, including CAD modeling, drawing creation, and component selection. </li><li>Candidates should possess skills in industrial automation, such as PLC programming, robot programming, and integration of sensors and actuators. </li><li>Candidates should possess knowledge of control systems, motion control, and safety standards relevant to industrial machinery and automation cells. </li><li>Candidates should possess skills in testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of automated systems and production equipment. </li><li>Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, along with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams. </li><li>Relevant engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field) and experience in plastics processing, injection molding, or industrial automation are beneficial. </li><li>Familiarity with energy-efficient design, Smart Factory concepts, and Industry 4.0 integration is an advantage. </li> </ul>
