Job Description The responsibilities of an Estimator: Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for federal construction projects Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate pricing Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors throughout the DC market Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids Support preconstruction efforts and participate in bid strategy discussions Collaborate closely with the Director of Estimating and project teams throughout the estimating process Mentor and help develop a junior estimator on the team Assist in identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within deadline requirements Utilize Bluebeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office to support estimating activities MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant A successful Estimator should have: 5-7+ years of estimating experience within a General Contractor environment Experience estimating federal construction projects is required Ideally a strong network of subcontractors and suppliers throughout the DC/Maryland market Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Strong communication and relationship-building skills Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents Proficiency with Bluebeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite Desire to mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative culture What's on Offer competitive salary up to 135k Annual bonus up to 20% Comprehensive healthcare package PTO Hybrid Schedule: 1 remote day per week after 90 days PEbacked growth since 2021 Missioncritical portfolio with federal agencies High Growth & Market Activity Scores
