EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
Seeking Partner for Release/Closure of Legacy Bank Guarantees
Vedanta, an owner-driven critical minerals, hydrocarbons and energy company, operates a USD 30 billion portfolio and contributes 1.4% to India's GDP . Across its India businesses, the Group has, over many years, accumulated bank guarantees issued to government departments, statutory bodies, and counterparties. A material portion of these has since expired or fulfilled its underlying obligation , with the aggregate outstanding running into hundreds of crores of rupees .
THE ASK
- Review the bank guarantee register across Vedanta India entities and identify instruments that are expired or otherwise eligible for closure.
- Engage with the relevant beneficiaries, largely government departments and statutory authorities, to secure the BG instruments and release confirmations.
- Coordinate with the issuing Indian banks to complete surrender formalities and free up the underlying limits and margins.
THE IDEAL PARTNER
- Extensive, hands-on experience working with bank guarantees within the Indian banking system, and a strong working knowledge of issuance, expiry, surrender, and release procedures.
- Willingness to work on the ground at Vedanta business locations across India and take this on as a focused, time-bound project.
- Comfortable with a success-based, outcome-linked commercial model, with no fixed retainer and no defined tenure.
