Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations. This role will prepare and review financial statements, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders. The Accountant will maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, as well as support audits and process improvements. The position involves close collaboration with leadership and other teams to provide financial insights that support business decisions in a fast-moving Martech environment. This is a full-time remote role. Key Responsibilities Strong skills in core accounting functions such as general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. Proficiency in financial reporting, including preparation of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and variance analysis. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support strategic and operational decision-making. Comfort using accounting software and spreadsheets; familiarity with cloud-based tools and ERPs is beneficial. Knowledge of relevant tax regulations, compliance requirements, and basic audit procedures. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines consistently. Prepare and file GST, TDS, and PF returns within statutory deadlines. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review financial statements. Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities. Generate financial and management reports to aid business decision-making. Record, verify, and maintain accounting entries in Zoho Books. Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation. Analyze financial variances and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency. Qualification Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA) are an advantage. Proficient in MS Excel and financial reporting. Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy.
