About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager – Real Estate (Record-to-Report) to join the Client Advisory Services (CAS) team within our Advisory practice. This role is focused on managing end-to-end R2 R activities for US-based real estate clients, including commercial, residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and renewable energy asset portfolios. The role combines strong technical accounting expertise, close management, and stakeholder leadership, delivered through a high-quality offshore model.

The Manager will be responsible for overseeing monthly close, financial reporting, and complex real estate accounting matters, while leading and developing teams supporting multiple client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery & R2 R Ownership

Lead and oversee end-to-end R2 R processes for real estate clients, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Review and approve US GAAP-compliant financials, including balance sheet reconciliations, P& L analysis, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules. Manage accounting for real estate–specific areas such as: Rental revenue recognition and straight-line rent CAM recoveries and tenant reimbursements Property operating expenses and accruals Fixed assets, capitalizations, depreciation, and impairments Debt accounting, interest accruals, and loan covenants Lease accounting (ASC 842 – lessor-focused) Intercompany and consolidation accounting (where applicable) Ensure timely resolution of open items, reconciling differences, and review notes before client delivery.

Stakeholder & Client Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for Controllers, Finance Directors, and Asset Managers on assigned engagements. Lead close calls, status updates, and issue-resolution discussions with client stakeholders. Proactively identify accounting risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities; provide actionable recommendations. Coordinate with client-side audit and tax teams to support audits, reviews, and compliance requirements.

Team Leadership & People Management

Lead, mentor, and review the work of Senior Associates, Associates, and Assistant Managers. Drive quality, timeliness, and consistency across deliverables through robust review processes and clear expectations. Support team development through technical coaching, performance feedback, and training initiatives. Manage staffing, work allocation, and backup planning across multiple real estate engagements.

Process Improvement & Technology Enablement

Drive continuous improvement across R2 R processes, including standardization, automation, and close optimization. Leverage accounting platforms such as Yardi, MRI, App Folio, Quick Books, Sage Intacct, and related reporting tools. Support implementation or stabilization of new accounting systems, chart of accounts redesigns, and reporting enhancements. Establish and monitor KPIs related to close efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

Governance, Quality & Compliance

Ensure adherence to firm quality standards, internal controls, and documentation requirements. Implement and maintain strong review controls across financial reporting and reconciliations. Support internal inspections, SOX-style control documentation (where applicable), and client audits. Uphold data confidentiality and information security requirements in line with firm policies.

Practice & Firm Contribution

Contribute to onboarding of new real estate engagements. Support knowledge-building initiatives, playbooks, and best practices for real estate R2 R services. Collaborate with onshore teams to deliver a seamless global engagement model.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA / CPA preferred. 10–16+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to US accounting. Strong hands-on experience managing R2 R processes for real estate or asset-intensive clients. Prior experience in offshore delivery, shared services, or outsourced accounting environments preferred. Proven people management and client-facing experience. Advanced Excel skills; experience with real estate ERPs and reporting tools is highly desirable. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
