About the OpportunityOur client is adding a Controller to work side by side with ownership and lead the finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a back-office one. The Controller will have a real voice in the direction of the company and will play a key part in modernizing how the business operates.What You’ll DoOwn the accounting and finance function, including financial reporting, month-end close, and job cost and project-level accountingUse AI and automation to improve processes and efficiency across the accounting teamManage annual insurance procurement, including health insurance and general liability policies, and lead insurance auditsOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll (ADP), and subcontractor certificates of insurancePartner with the company’s outside accountant and ownership on tax planning, distributions, and cash managementLead and develop the accounting team, and help plan for its futureWork closely with ownership and project teams to deliver the financial insight they need to make decisionsWhat You BringRequiredExperience in construction or project-based accounting; completed-contract or percentage-of-completion experience preferredProven leadership, with a desire for authority, ownership, and a say in how the company runsCuriosity about AI and process improvement, and a track record of making systems more efficientExperience leading or supporting an accounting software implementation or migrationA stable work history that shows commitment and tenurePreferred xzbcwsv Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
