Job Description

A New York-based private equity firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to own management company accounting operations: payables, employee expenses, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. The firm is migrating from QuickBooks and Concur to NetSuite and Ramp. This person will administer both platforms day to day and help shape how core accounting processes run on the new systems. It's a high-volume, deadline-driven seat for an experienced accountant who wants clear ownership of a defined set of processes and real input into how they're built.

Compensation : $100,000 to $155,000

What You'll Do

- Own end-to-end accounts payable for the management company: intake, coding, and staging of vendor invoices for approval, supporting documentation, and W-9 files

- Set up approved payments, including wire initiation and check runs, for release by the firm's authorized approvers

- Perform callback verification on new or changed vendor payment instructions

- Maintain the vendor master, including payment details and 1099 tax classifications, and track invoice aging

- Perform first-line review of employee expenses (receipts, attendee documentation, entity and GL coding), and drive missing items to resolution with executive assistants

- Post journal entries for management fees, rent, interest, amortization, and allocations, plus recurring monthly bookings (card activity, dividend income, allocation chargeouts)

- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations across the firm's accounts

- Serve as day-to-day administrator of Ramp (cards, receipts, bill pay, vendor records)

- Own daily transaction processing in NetSuite after go-live, including historical data cleanup

- Help define and document workflows on the new NetSuite and Ramp platforms

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience owning high-volume AP, expense processing, and journal entry workflows end to end

- Experience in a private equity or hedge fund management company, fund administrator, family office, or similar investment environment

- Strong accounting fundamentals and strong Excel skills

- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with complete, consistently filed documentation for every transaction

- Comfort communicating and following up persistently with executive assistants, deal team members, and senior leadership

- Demonstrated discretion handling confidential information, including compensation, banking, and investor matters

Preferred

- Hands-on experience with NetSuite and/or Ramp

- Experience with a system migration, implementation, or integration (ERP, spend management, or AP automation)

- Multi-entity accounting experience

- Familiarity with QuickBooks and/or Concur

- CPA or progress toward certification

The Environment

A lean, collaborative private equity firm that values entrepreneurship, analytical rigor, and accountability. The role is based in Midtown Manhattan and is fully in office, five days per week.
