Location: Cockfosters, North London Pay: £20 per hour Experience: Minimum 5 years' relevant professional kitchen experience About the role We are recruiting an experienced Sous Chef with a strong background in Italian cuisine on behalf of our restaurant client in Cockfosters.

You will support the daily running of the kitchen, supervise preparation and service, and help maintain consistent food quality.
You should be comfortable working alongside the team and taking charge when required.
Key responsibilities Organise daily preparation and support the smooth running of kitchen service, taking responsibility in the Head Chef's absence when required.
Prepare and cook dishes to agreed recipes and presentation standards, using your practical knowledge of Italian cuisine.
Coordinate kitchen timings, check dishes before service and help colleagues maintain consistent quality and portion sizes.
Support and guide the kitchen team, give clear instructions and help train less experienced colleagues.
Monitor stock, check deliveries, rotate ingredients and flag ordering needs while controlling avoidable waste.
Maintain food safety, allergen, temperature and cleaning records, and ensure ingredients are stored and handled correctly.
What we are looking for At least 5 years' relevant experience in professional kitchens, including responsibility for supervising colleagues.
Strong practical experience of Italian cuisine and its preparation techniques.
A relevant Level 3 qualification in professional cookery.
Level 3 Food Safety in Catering.
Good organisation, clear communication and the ability to maintain standards during busy service.
Sound knowledge of stock rotation, portion control and allergen procedures. xrexnqw
