Staff Accountant Remote - Scottsdale, AZ Apply for this position Back to Jobs Staff Accountant Position Overview Monetary Metals (MM) is a disruptive, high growth gold platform, which pays interest to savers, finances qualified businesses, and provides a liquid marketplace for gold leases and bonds. Monetary Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-growth company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take ownership of accounting processes. This position is open to remote applicants and will report to the Controller. Core Responsibilities Accounts Payable: Receive and validate invoices from vendors. Obtain necessary internal approvals for invoice payments. General upkeep of accounts payable in our accounting system. Send remittances to vendors to ensure payments are applied correctly. Bank Transactions: Record and classify bank transactions accurately and promptly into the accounting system. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and updating financial transactions. Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records, including proper classification and documentation of transactions. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Audit Support: Support external audit processes by providing documentation, reconciliations, explanations of accounting transactions, and addressing auditor inquiries. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting. 2-4 years of accounting experience required. Strong understanding of GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accurate execution of responsibilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
