Job Description
Role: Bookkeeper
Kupperman Companies is a commercial real estate development and investment firm based in New Orleans, Louisiana, that specializes in acquiring, developing, and investing in commercial real estate assets, with a particular focus on hotels, multi-family, mixed-use, and retail assets.

Job Duties:

Enter and code vendor invoices and prepare payment batches for the Controller's approval.
Prepare and send customer invoices, track collections, and flag past-due balances to the Controller.
Record day-to-day transactions in the general ledger under the Controller's direction.

Reconcile vendor statements against the general ledger.
Month-end & reporting support
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the Controller's month-end close and financial reporting.
Maintain organized, audit-ready records and supporting documentation for all transactions.
Support the annual 1099 process under the Controller's direction.
Education & Qualifications
Fluent in English.
Attention to detail and highly organized.
Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively to internal and external professionals.
Great attitude, creativity and flexibility on meeting whatever the day brings is a must!
Proficient with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Excel; experience with Melio or similar AP platforms is a plus.
Experience:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Real estate, property management, or construction accounting experience is a plus but not required.
Must be a quick-learner and self-starter.
