Role Description The Senior Audit Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Kottayam, responsible for supporting end-to-end audit engagements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing financial statements, assisting in planning and executing financial audits, testing controls, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of accounting records. The role involves preparing and organizing audit documentation, drafting sections of audit reports, and highlighting findings and recommendations. The Senior Audit Assistant will interact with clients to gather information, clarify issues, and help ensure compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards. This position also supports process improvements, maintains audit checklists, and collaborates with the supervising auditor or principal on complex audit issues. Should be able to handle GST, ESI PF and TDS monthly/quarterly/ annual filings.
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Financial Statements and Finance for accurate analysis and interpretation of client records. Candidates should possess skills in Financial Audits and Audit Reports to support planning, execution, and documentation of audit engagements. Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to identify discrepancies, evaluate risks, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations. Post graduate in Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent in progress) are an advantage. Knowledge of accounting standards and local tax and regulatory requirements, along with proficiency in common accounting software like Tally, Zoho and MS Excel. Strong attention to detail, integrity in handling confidential information, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently and within a small team. Previous experience in audit, accounting, or assurance services, preferably in a similar assistant or senior assistant capacity, is highly beneficial.
