Job Description
Litigation Associate, General Liability Defense | Fort Lauderdale, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | General Liability

Grocery store floors, hotel pools, apartment parking lots after dark, a loose handrail at a condo building. General liability files take you everywhere, and every one of them asks a slightly different question about who should have done what.
That variety is why GL is one of the best practices in insurance defense for building trial skills. And it's what this Fort Lauderdale role offers.
I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, hiring for an insurance defense firm with a strong general liability practice.
Five things worth knowing• The work: premises liability, negligent security, products and commercial GL claims, handled from first report to resolution• The exposure: your own depositions, hearings, mediations and trial work, plus direct contact with adjusters and clients• The terms: hybrid in Fort Lauderdale, 1,900 billable hours, $125,000 to $200,000• The requirements: Florida Bar membership and 2+ years of litigation experience• The future: a real path to partner, with senior attorneys trusted to lead trials, supervise others and own client relationships
About that salaryIt's deliberately wide. The firm wants to be able to pay a mid level associate fairly and a senior attorney or counsel properly, without forcing anyone into a box. If you're experienced, you'll be paid like it, and you'll get the larger exposure files to match.
Who it suitsLawyers who like to get to the scene, ask awkward questions of property managers and security vendors, and build a defense from facts rather than templates. If you're happiest when you're investigating, GL is your practice.
What changes when you moveOwnership, mostly. Instead of drafting pieces of someone else's case, you run your own: the strategy, the depositions, the reporting, the mediation. For experienced associates and counsel, it also means mentoring the team and becoming the person clients ask for.
When you're ready to talk, I'm here. Call 786 891 0610, or connect with me, Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, on LinkedIn. xzbcwsv You can also choose a time in my calendar at , whether that's an exploratory chat before applying or a catch up after you've applied to go over your application.
