Job Description: Trainer – Digital Factory and Smart Manufacturing
RIASAT - Ramaiah Academy for Advanced Skills and Technology is entering into a strategic partnership with Dassault Systemes India. This partnership would cover the entire knowledge spectrum of Industry ready skilling - consulting - applied research. Dassault Systemes provides 3 D experience platform that allows clients to connect teams, data and process in one place. This would be covering Manufacturing, Engineering and Life Sciences using Dassault's world-famous software application platforms.
As global supply chains realign, India is emerging as a critical hub for high precision manufacturing and deep science commercialization. Despite producing large number of Engineering graduates, traditional academic systems are not generating enough day one ready talent for complex hardware translation, defense manufacturing, semiconductor packaging and medtech devices.
Building on the Ramaiah Group’s 60 years legacy in higher education and research serving more than 18,000 students at any point in time, Ramaiah Institute for Advanced Skills and Technology (RAF) is launching a specialized deep science triad eco system in Bangalore. Position Title
Trainer – Digital Factory and Smart Manufacturing
Role Purpose
The trainer will deliver training on digital manufacturing, factory planning, process planning, manufacturing simulation, layout validation, ergonomics, equipment planning, and smart factory concepts using Dassault Systèmes manufacturing solutions.
The trainer should be able to connect classroom training to practical manufacturing outcomes, including improved shopfloor planning, process visualization, production flow validation, line balancing, resource planning, and manufacturing readiness.
Reporting to:  General Manager – Delivery (Dassault Program)
Location: Bangalore
Trainer Capability
·       Process planning, routing, MBOM/BOP concepts and manufacturing sequence
·      Manufacturing operations planning and digital work instructions
·      Factory flow simulation, throughput, bottleneck analysis and production scenarios
·      Factory layout, resource placement, workcell planning and equipment modelling
·      Human task analysis, operator posture, reachability and safety validation
·      Robot task simulation, workcell validation and automation planning
Key Responsibilities
Deliver practical training on digital factory, process planning and manufacturing simulation workflows.
Train learners on manufacturing process definition, resource allocation, layout planning and production sequence planning.
Explain concepts such as MBOM, BOP, work instructions, takt time, cycle time, line balancing and bottleneck analysis.
Coach learners to create digital manufacturing scenarios for assembly lines, machining cells, robotic cells and factory layouts.
Conduct training on factory simulation, ergonomics assessment, automated workcell planning and smart manufacturing workflows.
Develop use cases relevant to Bengaluru’s manufacturing ecosystem, MSMEs, automotive suppliers, aerospace suppliers, industrial equipment companies and electronics manufacturing.
Create hands-on assignments using practical shopfloor examples.
Prepare learners for job roles such as Manufacturing Engineer, Digital Manufacturing Engineer, Process Planning Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Automation Simulation Engineer and Factory Planning Engineer.
Support RAF in industry demonstrations and manufacturing consulting proposals.
Align training outcomes with commercial services opportunities such as layout study, process simulation, work instruction development and automation feasibility.
Required Qualification and Experience
BE/B. Tech/ME/M. Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or Automation Engineering
4–10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process planning, digital manufacturing, industrial engineering, factory simulation, robotics or production engineering.
Hands-on experience with DELMIA or equivalent digital manufacturing / process planning tools.
Exposure to manufacturing industries such as automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, electronics, machine tools or MSME production environments.
Practical knowledge of shopfloor operations is highly preferred.
Mandatory / Preferred Certification
Preferred: Dassault Systèmes DELMIA / 3 DEXPERIENCE Manufacturing certification in relevant roles.
Additional certification in Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Production Planning or Smart Manufacturing will be an advantage.
Key Skills
Strong manufacturing process understanding.
Ability to explain factory and production concepts clearly.
Knowledge of process planning, resource planning, layout planning and simulation.
Ability to conduct hands-on training with practical industry examples.
Strong communication and problem-solving ability.
Ability to support commercial manufacturing consulting engagements.
Expected Outcomes
The trainer should enable learners to understand and execute digital factory workflows, create manufacturing process plans, simulate factory scenarios, identify bottlenecks and support industry-ready smart manufacturing projects.
