Freelance Senior Consultant – Fire Alarm Manufacturing, Testing & BIS Certification

Job Overview

We are establishing a brand-new manufacturing unit in Vikhroli, Mumbai, for Wireless Fire Alarm Systems. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant on a freelance, project-based basis to design, set up, and optimize our production and post-production testing lines. The ideal expert will ensure our setup fully aligns with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and specific Indian Standards (IS) guidelines for seamless product certification.

Key Responsibilities

· Production Line Setup:  Design and optimize production workflows for wireless fire alarm assembly and post-production testing.

· Testing Infrastructure :  Specify, source, and set up test benches, automated test equipment (ATE), and RF/signal testing tools.

· Compliance & Certification:  Standardise testing protocols to ensure compliance with BIS and relevant Indian Standards (IS) for wireless fire safety equipment. 

· SOP Creation:  Draft end-to-end Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production QC and testing technicians.

· Audit Readiness:  Conduct pre-audit evaluations to prepare the facility and production batches for official BIS inspections.

Required Profile

· Experience:  10+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, specifically handling fire alarm systems or smart building automation.

· Regulatory Expertise:  Deep, hands-on knowledge of BIS certification processes and relevant Indian Standards (IS) for fire safety.

· Technical Skills:  Proven experience in setting up hardware test laboratories, RF testing, and QA/QC automation.

· Location:  Must be able to visit our manufacturing unit in Vikhroli regularly for hands-on setup and team training.
