Bus DriverThe job of the Bus Driver is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions; ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses.Responsibilities include:Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behaviorAssesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situationsAssists students and other passengersAttends meetings, trainings, etc.Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior; conducts emergency evacuation drillsDrives school bus(es)Fuels assigned vehicle, (e.g. oil, water, fuel, etc.)Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, (e.g. fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.)Prepares documents and reports, (e.g. field trip reports, incident reports, inspection records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, etc.)Reports observations and/or incidents, (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.)Responds to inquiries, (e.g. students, parents, other school personnel, etc.)Supervises students and other passengers during transitAssists other personnel as may be requiredExperience is desired. Full time with benefits - 25-40 hrs. per week. $19.40 depending on experience; w/certificate. The District trains new bus drivers.Qualifications:Alcohol and drug testPre-placement physical examCriminal justice fingerprint/background clearanceRandom drug testingAbility to read, write and communicate clearly in EnglishThis is a 10 month school year position only.
