We are currently looking for a Senior System Administrator Software Release Mgr. to support the National Gallery of Art. The general focus of this position is Enterprise Software Release Management in a multiplatform (Microsoft Windows, Mac Operating Systems and Mobile Devices) environment. Candidate MUST be flexible and available when after-hours remote and/or offsite support for emergencies is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Test new versions of operating system and endpoint software for compatibility, performance optimization and deployment. Manage all aspects of the end-to-end release process. Develop and validate software release process/technical procedures. Develop master images and deployment procedures. Develop and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) checklists for software release processes. Work with stakeholders for software deployment/updates. Deals with communication, preparation, and training for new releases. Update Knowledge Management System (KMS)Provides management reports on release progress. Track software licensing. Ensure security compliance to the supported applications and operating systems. Perform daily system performance and security monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, endpoint systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs. Researching and testing new operating systems, office productivity enterprise software, and endpoint management technologies and tools to support tech refresh and lifecycle management of the supported technologies. Provide support to end users and helpdesk Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff for solving complex problems. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Participate in the design, implementation and management of workload automation initiatives. Adhere to firm Change Management, Problem Management policies and familiarity with ITIL or other formalized IT operations.
