Summary of Company and Role

A leading technology driven financial services firm is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Business Planning & Analytics team. This team works closely with finance, trading, and operations groups to transform complex business data into actionable insights that support strategic decision making across the organization.

This role is ideal for a back end focused engineer who enjoys building scalable applications, automating processes, working with large datasets, and creating tools that improve efficiency. You will collaborate with global teams and have the opportunity to develop systems that directly impact business performance.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and maintain applications, tools, and automation solutions that support finance, operations, and business analytics functions

• Build and optimize data pipelines, databases, and backend systems that enable efficient data processing, reporting, and analysis

• Develop dashboards, data visualization tools, and reporting solutions that provide stakeholders with actionable business insights

• Partner with cross functional teams to enhance existing systems, improve workflows, and deliver scalable technology solutions

• Contribute to software development best practices, CI/CD processes, and modern engineering initiatives across the organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or another quantitative field

• 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL

• Experience building backend systems, APIs, data processing applications, or analytics platforms

• Experience working with cloud environments, preferably AWS

• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development tools such as GitLab and Jira

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React or other modern front end frameworks

• Exposure to financial systems, trading environments, or financial data

• Experience with AI, machine learning, or agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor

• Experience building business intelligence, reporting, or data visualization solutions

• Ability to combine technical expertise with strong business acumen and stakeholder collaboration skills
