About The Team
The UX AI Enablement (UXAI) team is part of the User Experience Platform (UXP) group. We build the tools, workflows, and quality standards that help Etsy's product teams use AI well and responsibly across product development.
We work closely with Design, Product, Research, Engineering, and Design Systems. Our job is to make it faster to go from an idea to a high-fidelity prototype that's aligned with the Design System, then move that prototype toward validation and production. We do this through a suite of AI-assisted prototyping tools. All of it helps teams explore and test experiences faster and with more confidence, on both web and native.
About The Role
The contractor will help the UXAI team build AI-assisted prototyping tools, make it faster to turn ideas into high-fidelity prototypes that fit the Design System, and help product teams across Etsy actually adopt those tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain AI-assisted prototyping tools that help designers and engineers move faster and stay aligned with the Design System.
- Lead and contribute to projects, including new features where the requirements aren't fully defined yet.
- Support peers across Etsy day to day — writing docs, reviewing pull requests, answering Slack questions, auditing new features, and hosting office hours and classes.
- Spot tech debt and propose work that moves the team forward.
Technical Environment
The contractor’s work will primarily use JavaScript/TypeScript and React
Requirements
Must-Haves
- Strong expertise in front-end development using JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, including experience with React
- Experience creating and maintaining reusable frontend components used across large product surfaces
- Experience building or integrating AI-powered or generative AI tooling to support developer workflows or design systems
- Experience writing evals to measure and improve the quality of AI-powered tools
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building tooling such as - linters/validators, metric collectors related to component usage or adoption
- Experience working with or building Web Components
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices (e.g, WCAP, WAI-ARIA)

3. Panel interview – designer and PM, scheduled separately
