Mechanical Engineer – Marine Propulsion Integration

GAMMA Marine Training Institute Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to handle the mechanical installation and integration of an electric propulsion system for a manned marine training vessel .
Key Responsibilities- Install and align the propulsion motor with the shafting system.
- Design or modify motor foundations, brackets and mountings.
- Coordinate motor coupling, shaft, stern tube and propeller installation.
- Carry out shaft and motor alignment.
- Coordinate fabrication and machining work.
- Assist with mechanical integration of the electric steering system.
- Supervise installation of windlasses and associated equipment.
- Check machinery clearances, vibration and mechanical performance.
- Troubleshoot alignment, vibration and mechanical installation issues.
- Support commissioning, harbour trials and sea trials.
- Maintain mechanical drawings and installation records.
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related discipline .
Preferred Skills- Marine propulsion, shaft alignment, couplings, stern tubes, bearings, rotating machinery, fabrication and mechanical installation.
- Experience in shipyards, boatbuilding, marine machinery or propulsion installation is preferred.
