Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual machine tools to produce precision parts from raw materials. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of blueprints, takes pride in hands-on craftsmanship, and can work independently to tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual manufacturing equipment, including manual lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and band saws. Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specs to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences. Part Inspection: Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, verniers) to inspect finished parts and ensure they meet exact specifications. Material Selection: Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastics) based on job requirements. Maintenance completion of a machinist apprenticeship or vocational program is highly preferred.
