Business Development Executive - Australian Accounting

Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate and qualify B2B leads through outbound outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn, events/webinars) and inbound enquiries, specifically targeting Australian accounting firms, bookkeeping practices and SMEs.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle: prospecting, requirement gathering, solution pitching, proposal and pricing, negotiations, contract closure and handover to delivery/operations teams.
  • Position and sell Australian accounting outsourcing services (bookkeeping, BAS/GST, payroll, year-end, SMSF, management reporting, etc.) based on client needs and pain points.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Australian clients, driving upsell and cross-sell opportunities across multiple accounting and finance service lines.
  • Conduct market and competitor research focused on the Australian accounting industry to identify new segments, niches and partnership opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, activities and pipeline in the CRM; prepare regular sales reports, forecasts and insights for management.
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership to refine Australia-specific value propositions, sales collateral and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Represent the company in virtual meetings, demos and Australia-focused industry forums/events to enhance visibility and build networks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in B2B sales / business development, preferably in Australian accounting outsourcing, KPO/BPO or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting and compliance processes (BAS, GST, payroll, super, year-end, tax lodgements); prior experience working with Australian accountants or KPOs is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage Partners, Directors and senior decision‑makers in Australia.
  • Proven track record in lead generation, pipeline management and closing B2B deals in international or Australian markets.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce).

Performance Expectations

  • The selected candidate will be expected to achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets from the Australian market, contribute to Australia-focused growth plans and continuously improve through feedback and learning. Regular performance reviews will be conducted to evaluate progress and provide support.
