Multiskilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)Wembley£50,000 to £52,000Talent Guardian is recruiting on behalf of a well established food manufacturer in Wembley. We are looking for a Multiskilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join their engineering team on days.This is a hands on maintenance role on a busy, highly automated food production site. You will be keeping the lines running, diagnosing faults properly rather than patching them, and finding the improvements that stop the same problem coming back next week.The shift Tuesday to Saturday, 07:00 to 16:30. 45 hour contract, fully site based in Wembley.What you will be doingCarrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the production plantDiagnosing root cause on breakdowns and returning equipment to service as quickly as safely possibleRecording all inspections, work carried out and faults found on the site CMMSCompleting daily, weekly and monthly checks in and around the workshop areasIdentifying cost effective improvements to site assets to lift efficiency and reliabilityReporting defects and escalating to the relevant supervisor where neededPromoting health and safety and working to company policies and procedures throughoutWhat we are looking forCity and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical disciplineAt least two years in the FMCG or food manufacturing industryElectrical and mechanical fault finding and repair experience in a heavy industrial or automated environmentHands on experience with food manufacturing equipment such as tray sealers (Proseal, PA), conveyors, mixers, can openers, oil depositors, vertical baggers, metal detectors, combi units, X-ray, labelling and date coding machinesExperience using a CMMS system (Shire, Workmate, M-Com or similar)Confident with Excel and WordAnalytical, self motivated and comfortable switching between tasks as production needs changeWhy this one is worth a lookThe site runs a genuine mix of equipment, so this is not a role where you do the same job every day. You will report into the Engineering Manager and have real scope to suggest improvements rather than just react to breakdowns.
