Cost Accountant

• Analyze cost structures of import/export goodsincluding raw materials, semi-finished andfinished products.
• Review and verify costing data submitted byimporters/manufacturers/exporters to assessauthenticity and accuracy.
• Assist in determining the computed value ofimported goods using cost accounting techniquesas per Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969.
• Support the development and maintenance ofValuation Rulings by preparing cost-basedjustifications.
• Collaborate with Customs Officers duringinquiries, audits, and verifications relatedto valuation cases.
• Provide expert input in cases where transactionvalue is rejected and alternate valuationmethods are applied.
• Analyze cost breakdowns, production costs, andtransfer pricing structures of imported goods.
• Assist in developing fair customs values basedon cost data, market trends, and internationalpricing databases.
• Analyze financial statements, bills of materials,and production cost data to support valuationdecisions.
• Contribute to the development of valuationdatabases, pricing benchmarks, and referencematerial for valuation officers.
• Participate in meetings, briefings, and providelitigation support as required.
• Prepare technical reports, working papers,sector-specific analyses, and global markettrend summaries for major commodities.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• CA or CMA from ICMAP or an equivalentprofessional body; Master’s degree inCommerce, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of post-qualificationexperience in cost accounting, auditing,pricing analysis, or financial assessment.
• Experience in import/export pricing orcustoms consultancy is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accountingstandards and costing techniques.
• Familiarity with the WTO Agreement onCustoms Valuation and Section 25 of theCustoms Act, 1969.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysissoftware/tools.
• Strong report-writing skills in Englishand Urdu.
