We are seeking an Associate Attorney to handle estate planning, trust and probate administration, and related business matters. This role is well suited for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates with clarity, and produces careful, high-quality legal work in a structured practice environment. Core ResponsibilitiesLead client consultations with clarity and sound judgment, helping clients understand options and make informed decisionsCounsel clients on estate planning, probate, trust administration, and related business mattersDraft estate planning documents and related legal materials with a high standard of accuracy and completenessGuide families through probate and trust administration, including court representation for probate, guardianships, andconservatorships when neededManage client files, deadlines, documentation, and follow-through across multiple mattersStay current on estate, probate, and tax law developments relevant to client work
Required Skills & AbilitiesAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of client matters from start to finishStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust through clear, grounded client conversationsCareful approach to legal drafting, documentation, and deadline managementComfort working in a fast-moving practice while maintaining quality and consistencyAbility to balance client service, legal accuracy, and firm expectations for productivity
Other RequirementsActive member of the Michigan Bar in good standing2–5+ years of dedicated legal experience in estate planning, probate law, or business planning preferredConfidence in meeting firm-established minimum billing requirements while maintaining high-quality work
