Job Description

Senior Accountant — Real Estate Development

Seattle, WA | Hybrid

Base Salary: $110,000–$145,000 | Annual Bonus: 10%–30%

A vertically integrated real estate developer is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its growing portfolio of multifamily properties and development projects. The company operates across development, construction, and asset management, offering exposure to the full real estate lifecycle.

This newly created position reports to the Controller and will take ownership of multi-entity accounting, construction draws, and capital partner funding requests. We’re looking for a hands-on accountant with strong Yardi Voyager experience who enjoys collaborating across teams and taking initiative in an entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting across multiple real estate entities, including intercompany balances and reconciliations.
  • Apply GAAP to development and construction activities, including capitalized interest, work in progress, and placed-in-service accounting.
  • Prepare construction draws and capital partner funding requests, coordinating supporting documentation with internal teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate with third-party property managers and lenders to maintain accurate financial information.
  • Support accounting across development, construction, lease-up, and stabilized property operations.
  • Serve as an internal resource for Yardi Voyager and help improve accounting workflows as the business grows.
  • Coordinate construction cost information between Procore and Yardi.
  • Partner with the Controller, construction, and asset management teams to address accounting needs and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant accounting experience in real estate, development, or construction.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience preparing construction draws or capital partner funding requests.
  • Strong proficiency in Yardi Voyager.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Understanding of development accounting, including capitalized interest, work in progress, and placed-in-service treatment.
  • Experience working with lenders and third-party property managers.
  • Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • An ownership mentality and a collaborative, hands-on approach.

Experience with a developer or owner-operator is preferred. General contractor backgrounds are also welcome. Procore or comparable construction software experience is a plus. A CPA is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $110,000–$145,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual bonus opportunity of 10%–30%.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k).
  • Hybrid work arrangement, with approximately two days per week in the Seattle office initially and flexibility as the person becomes established.
  • No required travel.

Why Join?

This role offers broad responsibility, direct access to leadership, and the opportunity to work closely with the business across development, construction, and property operations. As the company grows, there is potential to take on additional responsibility and progress toward a Controller role.
