WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Electrical Engineer
(Generation) to join our Power & Energy team in a full-time, onsite position in
Oradell, NJ. The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power & Energy
Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives

YOUR IMPACT
* Detailed design of generating plant and renewable energy electrical systems
under the supervision of a lead electrical engineer
* Electrical system upgrades under the supervision of a lead electrical
engineer
* Typical tasks include the development of one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams,
conduit and cable sizing and routing, panel schedules, material take-offs and
writing of specifications.
WHO YOU ARE
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
- Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
- General understanding of electrical engineering as applied in design
engineering of large capital projects.
* Familiarity with relevant engineering and electrical construction laws,
codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
* Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with
others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and
non-engineering audience.
* Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and
prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
* Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a
team to meet business objectives.
* Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software,
spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
* Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (i.e., CADD, Aspen, and
CAPE), AutoCADD electrical.
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by
WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
* Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may
extend beyond the typical workweek.
* Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Student membership in IEEE
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software experience
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certificate
- Construction experience, including electrical construction would be a plus
- Intern experience in the design or operation of generating or heavy
industrial facilities would be a plus
* Intern experience at a Consulting Engineering firm would be a plus

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $72,700 - $109,100
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith
believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful
applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to
internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to
ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits
