Senior Development Accountant (Real Estate) Chicago, IL (hybrid, 3 days in office) | $90,000 to $100,000 base + 10% bonus A global, privately held real estate investor and developer is adding a Senior Development Accountant to its multifamily team in Chicago. The firm has built and managed real estate for nearly 70 years and is putting its capital into rental housing right now. You will own the books for a development project from ground-breaking to lease-up. That means draws, lender and investor funding, fees, wires, close, and the financials the deal team and lenders rely on. What you'll own Construction draws and funding requests to investors and lenders Draw and reporting calendars for your projects Development and construction management fee calcs, billing, and recording Fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization Wires for distributions, debt service, and lender reserves and escrows Journal entries, account recs, and month-end and quarter-end close Monthly and quarterly financial statements with the project team Position memos on new or unusual accounting items Audit and tax workpapers; budget support alongside asset management Helping train newer accountants on the team What you bring 3+ years of professional accounting Real estate development accounting (draws, lender funding, construction-side close) Bachelor's degree in Accounting Strong Excel and a real estate ERP (Yardi, JDE, or similar) Clear writing and comfort talking with project managers and lenders Nice to have CPA or CPA progress Multifamily or student housing projects Argus exposure Treasury or fixed-asset work Details Hybrid: 3 days in the Chicago office, 2 remote $90,000 to $100,000 base plus 10% annual bonus Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) Clear path from senior to manager: several current managers on this team started in this seat Fast process: one recruiter call, then two client rounds Interested or know someone?
