What You’ll Do:
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to support bearing selection and application.
- Provide calculations, technical information, and engineering input during the quotation and design process.
- Coordinate with drafting to ensure designs incorporate customer requirements and follow Kingsbury design standards.
- Design new products or modify existing products using CAD, marked-up drawings, field service reports, test data, and customer feedback.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, R&D, and Purchasing to support successful production and product performance.
- Analyze bearing performance data related to operating parameters, stress analysis, fit, tolerance, form, and function.
- Assist with or make decisions related to non-conforming parts and/or materials, depending on experience level.
- Participate in product development, product improvement, testing, special calculations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support to Sales and, when needed, customers or end users.
- Maintain technical proficiency by staying current with industry developments and standards.
- May include customer or end-user site visits depending on role level and business need.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Experience with CAD software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Experience: The level of this position will be determined based on experience, skills, and capabilities demonstrated.
Mechanical Engineer I: 0+ years experience.
Mechanical Engineer II: 2+ years relevant experience.
Senior Mechanical Engineer: 5+ years relevant experience.
