Job Description:

• Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Assists dentist in managing dental emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
• Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
• Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
• Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
• Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.

Graduate of an accredited dental assistant training program or the equivalent in applicable experience, required.

Current license to practice dental radiography in State of Ohio, required.

Board Certified inExpanded Function Dental Auxiliary in State of Ohio, required.

• Robust communication skills, required.
• Demonstratedability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients.
• Possesses good manual dexterity.
• Abilityto monitor nitrous oxide and patient after analgesia is administered.

Two years of experience as a chairside assistant, required.

OCCASIONALLY: Biohazard waste, Climb stairs/ladder, Cold Temperatures, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Hot Temperatures, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 41-60 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 61-100 lbs, Machinery, Power Tools, Pushing / Pulling: 100 lbs or greater with assistance, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 41-60 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 61-100 lbs

FREQUENTLY: Bend/twist, Flexing/extending of neck, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Loud Noises, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Sitting, Squat/kneel, Standing
