Physical education teacher

Role Purpose:

To develop students' physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, leadership, and overall well-being through engaging Physical Education programs aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver inquiry-based PE lessons in accordance with IB PYP, MYP, or DP frameworks. Promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and lifelong participation in sports and physical activities. Teach a variety of sports, games, movement skills, fitness, and recreational activities. Assess student progress and maintain records as per IB assessment requirements. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, leadership, and collaboration among students. Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment during all physical activities. Organize sports events, tournaments, athletic meets, and extracurricular sports programs. Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and parents to support students' holistic development. Maintain sports equipment and facilities and ensure adherence to safety standards. Support student well-being initiatives and contribute to the school's co-curricular programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Physical Education (B. P. Ed./M. P. Ed.). Teaching experience in an IB or international school preferred. Strong communication, classroom management, and coaching skills. Sports coaching certifications and experience in multiple sports are an added advantage.
