Reports to: SR. HR Generalist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Human Resources
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000 (DOE)
Position Summary:
We’re hiring a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to own the processes that keep our people paid, protected, and supported. You will be responsible for processing payroll, updating reports, and giving insights to what is working and not working for payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Run payroll for 800 employees, accurately, on-time, and fully compliant across multiple states.
- Process new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions, and benefits.
- Support our team with clear answers to their payroll and benefits questions.
- Keep our benefit programs running smoothly, from open enrollment to life event changes.
- Track the data, spot the trends, reconcile the invoices, and help us stay audit-ready at all times.
- Identify ways to streamline and improve payroll processes.
- Manage monthly wellness initiative to help improve overall benefit engagement and participation resulting in benefit premium improvements.
- Complete monthly state audit for local, state, and federal taxes being properly applied and manage.
What Success Looks Like - Metrics:
- Understanding and having knowledge of mult-state payroll compliance.
- Reduce payroll related errors, while improving current processes.
- Improving benefit enrollment through benefit participation initiatives
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card (or equivalent) if required by your state.
- Must meet all role-specific requirements listed above.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, use office equipment, lift to 25 lbs., and travel between company locations as needed.
Work Environment:
- Professional office environment with periodic travel to retail, cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, and corporate locations. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
