Key Responsibilities

Own escalated incidents from L1; perform root cause analysis across the control plane, nodes, networking and storage layers. Plan and execute cluster upgrades and operator lifecycle management with tested rollback procedures. Troubleshoot cluster networking on OVN Kubernetes or Open Shift SDN, services, routes, ingress controllers, network policies, and DNS resolution within the cluster. Manage persistent storage, including storage classes, CSI drivers, Open Shift Data Foundation or equivalent, and PV/PVC lifecycle and capacity. Administer and tune the monitoring, logging and alerting stack, including Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana and cluster logging. Manage platform security including RBAC design, service accounts, security context constraints, certificate rotation, and image registry policy and scanning. Manage etcd health, control plane availability, and cluster backup and restore procedures. Automate operational tasks using Ansible, Helm and Git Ops practice; support CI/CD pipeline integration with the platform. Write and maintain runbooks and SOPs; mentor L1 engineers and drive up first line resolution. Participate in change management, problem management and post incident reviews; coordinate with Red Hat support on platform defects.

Required Skills

4+ years of hands on experience administering Open Shift or Kubernetes in production, including cluster level ownership. Strong command of Open Shift architecture, including control plane components, etcd, scheduler, controllers and node lifecycle. Cluster networking depth in OVN Kubernetes or Open Shift SDN, ingress and route configuration, and network policies; service mesh exposure is an advantage. Automation with Ansible and Helm; scripting in Bash or Python; familiarity with Git Ops tooling such as Argo CD. Strong Linux administration on RHEL or RHEL Core OS. Demonstrated root cause analysis capability with clear written documentation.

Preferred

Red Hat Certified Specialist in Open Shift Administration, or Red Hat Certified Architect. Experience with Open Shift Virtualization or Kube Virt. Exposure to Open Stack as the underlying infrastructure layer. Experience in telecom, BFSI or other large regulated data centre environments. Experience mentoring or leading a shift based support team.
