Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Service Now Developer (SPM) with strong expertise in implementing and customizing Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience across Demand Management, PPM, Resource Management, Agile Development, Portfolio Planning, integrations, and custom application development on the Service Now platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and implement Service Now SPM modules including Demand, PPM, Resource Management, Agile Development, and Portfolio Planning. Develop and customize workflows, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Flow Designer solutions. Build and enhance custom applications using Service Now App Engine. Design and develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, MID Server, and third-party systems. Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and deployment activities. Develop dashboards, reports, KPIs, and Performance Analytics solutions. Troubleshoot platform issues and ensure adherence to Service Now development best practices.

Required Skills

5+ years of hands-on Service Now development experience. Strong implementation experience in Service Now SPM. Expertise in Demand Management, PPM, Resource Management, Agile Development, and Portfolio Planning. Strong knowledge of Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub. Experience with Service Now App Engine and Custom Application Development. Strong integration experience using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, MID Server, and enterprise applications. Good understanding of Service Now architecture, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Certifications

Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – SPM (CIS-SPM) Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) ITIL Foundation Certification

Nice to Have

Performance Analytics and Reporting experience. Exposure to Agile Development 2.0. Experience in enterprise-scale Service Now implementations. Knowledge of Service Now AI, Now Assist, and automation capabilities.

Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) with Integrations

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, configure, and implement Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) solutions aligned with business and enterprise architecture requirements. Configure and customize SPM modules including: Demand Management Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Resource Management Agile Development 2.0 Strategic Planning Investment Funding Time Card Management Portfolio and Program Management Design scalable and reusable workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, Flow Designer flows, and automation within the SPM ecosystem. Design, develop, and support inbound and outbound integrations between Service Now and enterprise applications using: REST Application Programming Interfaces (REST APIs) SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) Web Services Integration Hub MID Server Scripted REST APIs Import Sets and Transform Maps Integrate Service Now SPM with enterprise platforms such as: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms Human Resources (HR) systems Azure Dev Ops Jira Microsoft Project SAP Oracle Microsoft Power BI Other third-party applications Develop secure authentication mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, Basic Authentication, Mutual Transport Layer Security (m TLS), and API key-based integrations. Build and maintain data synchronization processes to ensure consistency across integrated enterprise systems. Troubleshoot complex integration issues, API failures, data transformation errors, and performance bottlenecks. Optimize integration performance, reliability, monitoring, and error handling using Service Now best practices. Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, and third-party vendors to define integration requirements and solution architecture. Perform impact analysis, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support for SPM enhancements and integrations. Prepare technical design documents, integration specifications, deployment guides, and operational documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience implementing and supporting Service Now Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). Experience developing integrations using Integration Hub, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, Scripted REST APIs, and MID Server. Proficiency in Java Script, Glide API, Flow Designer, Integration Hub Spokes, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Scheduled Jobs. Experience integrating Service Now with Azure Dev Ops, Jira, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Power BI, and other enterprise platforms. Strong understanding of Service Now data model, CMDB (Configuration Management Database), security model, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and update sets. Experience with API authentication methods including OAuth 2.0, JSON Web Token (JWT), Mutual TLS (m TLS), and certificate-based authentication. Experience in troubleshooting API integrations, performance tuning, data mapping, transformation, and error handling. Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, and Dev Ops methodologies.
