Sales manager (credit rating)

ROLE OVERVIEW

The penultimate step in the business development track for credit rating advisory and debt syndication/capital raising across

public and private markets. The role works with top management on strategy, carries a team of BDMs, owns revenue, and

reports directly to top management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Acquire new clients and build client onboarding and relationship capability.

• Originate rating business and fundraising for mid and large corporate groups in the assigned region.

• Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients.

• Identify unrated clients and facilitate their migration from unrated to rated, helping them leverage the rating for fundraising.

• Build MIS and market intelligence on competitors.

• Prepare geography-wise and service-wise sales plans and achieve them.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of client industries - trends, business processes, financial measurements, performance

indicators and key competitors.

STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and train the business development team.

• Identify potential market segments.

• Generate revenue through new account development and key account management.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle the BD team and work alongside the execution team.

• Achieve sales targets; strong presentation and closing skills.

• Define and execute marketing processes; develop business proposals.

• Monitor market intelligence on market development, new projects, competitive activity and new customers.

• Manage clients, train the sales team, and monitor and evaluate sales team performance.
