Job description
The firm
Our client is an established national mid-tier law firm offering quality work and resources within a genuinely collaborative environment.
Partners and senior lawyers work closely together, share ideas and actively refer work across the firm. The culture is accessible and entrepreneurial, with senior practitioners encouraged to bring forward initiatives and leadership open to backing good ideas.
The firm has also invested in technology to streamline how its lawyers work and maintains a strong focus on creating an environment where people can perform at a high level without unnecessary demands on their personal time.
The role & team
This is an opportunity for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join at Special Counsel level as part of the firm’s broader national employment practice.
The practice advises employers across employment and workplace relations matters, including strategic advice, workplace disputes, terminations, restructures, performance and disciplinary matters, employment contracts, restraints, workplace investigations and industrial relations.
You will manage your own matters and client relationships while contributing to the continued development of the practice. There is an established client base and strong internal referral flow, however, at this level you will also be expected to bring established relationships and demonstrate the ability to generate and grow work.
What’s on offer
- Competitive salary package + Performance-based bonus opportunity
- 5-hour daily billable target
- Genuine autonomy over your practice and client relationships
- Direct access to senior leadership
- Private office within a collaborative team environment
- Social initiatives structured with consideration for employees’ personal time
To be successful you will ideally have:
- Senior-level experience in employment and workplace relations law
- An established network and demonstrated ability to generate and grow client relationships
- Strong technical, commercial and client management capability
- A collaborative approach and interest in contributing to the broader firm
This opportunity will suit an established Employment Lawyer looking for the platform of a mid-tier firm while retaining autonomy and having a genuine voice in the continued development of the practice.
