Pay From: $65 per hour
MUST:
Current, unrestricted Virginia state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
National certification as an NNP (NNP-BC) or NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant.
Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
DEA required
NICU experience preferred, New Grads welcome
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the neonatal care team.
Schedule
Day Shift or Night Shift opportunities / 12 hour shifts
DUTIES:
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) NICU
We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a collaborative neonatal team providing high-quality care to critically ill and premature newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This provider will rotate through the NICU, working closely with neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive neonatal care.
Provide advanced clinical care for neonatal patients in the NICU.
Perform comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage neonatal conditions.
Attend high-risk deliveries and provide newborn stabilization and resuscitation as needed.
Perform procedures within scope of practice, including intubation, umbilical line placement, lumbar punctures, and other neonatal procedures (based on experience and credentialing).
Collaborate with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
Interpret laboratory results, diagnostic studies, and imaging to guide clinical decision-making.
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
Educate and communicate with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies and best practices.
